Change of Plans
We’re sorry to say that this year’s festival is not going to happen in a physical public space. In consultation with our festival cinema partner, Depot in Lewes, we’ve concluded that we can’t be sure that it will be safe for people to travel to and stay in Lewes or attend WOFFF20 in person, and so we have decided to change the format of this year’s gathering.
We know that many of you will be disappointed to hear this but we’re determined to create an online film festival that’s just as exciting, accessible and inclusive as our last five festivals have been.
What will WOFFF20 online include?
Key elements of WOFFF20 Online will be:
- 8 programmes of 58 international, independent short films
- 8 filmmaker Q&As
- a virtual lecture
- an awards ceremony announcing our WOFFF20 prize winners
WOFFF online offerings
Since 27 March, in response to COVID-19, WOFFF has been creating and building an online community by hosting weekly WOFFF Watchalongs with films that audiences can watch together and chat about online afterwards.
