2020 Report

WOFFF20 Winners

The sixth annual Women Over 50 Film Festival took place online from 26 to 30 September 2020. What an amazing festival it was. The move online meant that so many of you, from so many countries around the world joined the WOFFF community this year. We’re so glad you came.

We screened 58 short films, from 37 countries and the audience visited us from here in Britain, as well as from 56 other countries including Japan, Sweden, Barbados and Pakistan.

On this website and through social media we reached over 4 million people worldwide during the festival.

At the virtual awards ceremony prizes were announced for the Shedunnit Best Short Script, the London Film School Best Student Film, Best Animation, Best Experimental, Best Documentary, Best Drama, and the Emerald Life Audience Choice Award.

Festival director, Nuala O’Sullivan, said, “I believe that older women must be seen and heard, regardless of their age – even because of it. WOFFF moving online actually has allowed many more people to see these fantastic films with older women on both sides of the camera at their core. The reaction from people around the world – filmmakers and film-watchers has been really positive and encouraging. Roll on 2021!”
