Moving Pictures: mini-festivals in the community

Moving Pictures is WOFFF’s mini-festival reaching elder care homes, community centres and charities across London and the wider UK through a programme of short films and creative activities.

At the heart of what we do are our six core values. We are accessible, age-positive, collaborative, empowering, knowledgeable and welcoming.

Clockwise from top left: Moving Pictures screening at St.Barnabas Church Walthamstow, a resident of Forest View Care Home Walthamstow with a Moving pictures information pack, participants at St.Barnabas enjoying activities and refreshments, Sandra and Ann from Alliston House, a participant at Stratford Library screening for the d/Deaf community with Sign for All

What care home managers have to say about Moving Pictures:

“The mood was very positive. I was blown away by the responses of residents. A’s artwork was incredible I’ve never seen her draw an image of a human or animal before. C has never written more than one word before. I saw a paragraph here!”

– Averil, care home manager, London

Each Moving Pictures pack includes a DVD of 11 WOFFF short films and creative activity worksheets to engage older people in spoken, written and drawn responses to the films they watch.

We want to bring Moving Pictures to even more people – for more information, drop us an email at: info@wofff.co.uk

Moving Pictures has been funded by Foundation for Future London, a City of London Award and a Make it Happen award from Waltham Forest Council. Currently it’s funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
