Partner with us
The Women Over 50 Film Festival (WOFFF) is one of the world’s first festivals dedicated to spotlighting older women’s stories and talent in independent film. Every film we screen features a woman over 50 at its heart, either on screen, or in a key creative role such as writer, director, or producer.
We believe stories about older women matter. We also know that many organisations are working to create more inclusive, equitable cultures, and sponsoring WOFFF is a meaningful, visible way to show that commitment.
Why support WOFFF?
By supporting WOFFF, your organisation can:
-
Show you value older people as customers, clients, creatives and talent
-
Demonstrate your DEI credentials with action, not just words
-
Support underrepresented voices in the creative industries

-
Increase brand loyalty among a socially conscious, culturally engaged audience
WOFFF 2025
In 2025, we will celebrate the 11th edition of the Festival. As usual, we will run as a hybrid festival:
-
Online Festival: Friday 5 September September to Monday 6 October, 52 short films from international filmmakers all created by or about older women.
-
In-person Festival: Saturday 13 September at Depot Cinema, Lewes including screenings, Q&As and our annual Awards Ceremony
Depot is an award-winning venue and a key destination for international filmmakers and film lovers alike.
Each year, after our Festival we tour the UK, bringing our programme to cinemas and communities from Glasgow to Norwich and everywhere in between.
Our Year-Round Impact
WOFFF isn’t just a once-a-year event. Through our Moving Pictures project, we bring cinema to care homes and community venues across the UK.
In 2023 alone, we hosted 27 events where more than 500 people watched short films and took part in creative activities and conversations, helping older people feel more connected and less isolated.

Our matron Felicity Montagu is a celebrated British actor who has joined WOFFF to help amplify the voices of older women in film and spotlight stories too often overlooked by mainstream cinema.
She says, “I am thrilled to join WOFFF as an ambassador.
“The festival’s commitment to telling the stories of women over 50 is not only inspiring but crucial in today’s industry.
“I look forward to supporting WOFFF in its mission to change perceptions, challenge norms, and ensure older women’s voices are heard loudly and clearly. I see WOFFF as a vital function when women all over the world are losing their voices.”
Felicity is best known for her memorable comic and dramatic performances in Alan Partridge, Bridget Jones’s Diary, The Durrells, and the BBC series Beyond Paradise.
In Summer 2025, Felicity stars A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Bridge Theatre, London.
Over an extensive career spanning film, television and theatre, she has brought depth, wit and warmth to a diverse range of roles, embodying the creativity, resilience and talent that WOFFF celebrates.

Greta Scacchi Opens WOFFF24
WOFFF Matron Greta Scacchi opened WOFFF24 with grace and inspiration, setting the tone for our 10th Women Over 50 Film Festival.
Greta, a renowned actress celebrated for her powerful performances and dedication to storytelling, shared her thoughts on the importance of showcasing diverse, authentic voices in film, particularly those of older women.
Her words resonated deeply with our audience, reminding us why WOFFF’s mission to celebrate and amplify women over 50 in film is so very important.

Our matron Greta Scacchi has been a long-time supporter of WOFFF particularly because it is tackling the discrimination older women face in the media.
She says, “I am delighted that Women Over 50 Film Festival is here to upset the Hollywood apple cart that accepts actresses playing ten years older while actors can play ten years younger. This festival is unique in celebrating rather than hiding or ignoring older women in film. WOFFF rejoices in our older stories, older faces and older hearts and it is my pleasure to be associated with the Festival.”
Greta is an Emmy award-winning actor. Born in Milan, Italy, she spent her childhood in England and two years of her teens in Australia, where she began working in theatre.
Her films include White Mischief, The Player and Emma, and she can currently be seen in the TV series Bodies and recent film Run Rabbit Run (with Succession’s Sarah Snook), both on Netflix.
She is about to play Mrs Hardcastle in a 1930s-style update of Goldsmith’s She Stoops to Conquer at the Orange Tree theatre, Richmond.
