Watchalong FAQs

Q: So how does a watchalong work?
A: Well, at an agreed time, if you want to join us, you access the film we’ve chosen via a link we’ll make available. The you watch the film and afterwards, we host a conversation on Twitter and Facebook. So please join in and use the hashtag #Watchalong or #WatchParty.

Q: I don’t have access to the BBCiPlayer, can I still join the WOFFF watchalong?
A: Yes! If you can access the film we’re watching on dvd or by renting from a streaming platform like Netflix, Amazon, MUBI or Curzon at Home we’d love you to join us!
We’re selecting films for WOFFF watchalongs that are free to as many UK people as possible. Almost everyone in the UK has a TV & access to BBCiPlayer. In this time of social isolation, we want to be part of a solution helping everyone to stay connected. Please join in if you can.

Q: Do I have to know lots about film theory and have clever things to say about the film to be part of the WOFFF watchalong?
A: No! We just want to have a chat afterwards & talk about the things we’d usually talk to our pals after we’d seen a film together. You know, things like… Did you like it? What did you think of the ending? What did the film make you think of? Did you cry? Did you laugh? Did you liked the bit when…” That kind of thing. Nothing fancy, just what you thought and felt about the film. We’ll be here joining in the conversation too.

If you have any other questions about our watchalongs, drop us a line here and we’ll answer them as soon as we can.
