While we’re socially isolating because of COVID-19 and not able to meet in cinemas or other communal venues in the real world, we want to keep connected with you virtually, so we’re hosting “watchalongs” and we’d love you to join us!
WATCHALONG FAQS
What is a “watchalong”? A watchalong happens when people agree to watch a particular film separately (usually in their own house) at an agreed time, and then chat about it online with other people afterwards.

Feature film selection
We select feature films for watchalongs which follow the WOFFF rule of having an older woman in front of or behind the camera and which are free for people to access for people in Britain and Northern Ireland. So we’re not selecting films from Netflix, Amazon or other paying platforms. This free-to-view element is a key one for us at WOFFF because we don’t want anyone to feel excluded because of cost. And, of course, if you are outside Britain, you can still join us by accessing the film on dvd or via one of the paid-for streaming platforms.
WOFFF shorts
We’re also sharing Women Over 50 Film Festival short films as part of our watchalong events so you can enjoy some of the great shorts we’ve screened at WOFFF over the years.
Film Talks
We’re delighted so many filmmakers have joined us in our #WOFFFWatchalongs. They’ve created their own introductions to their films and shared them with us. we’ve heard from filmmakers in Scotland, Italy, USA. You can watch all our Films Talks here:
