The Women Over 50 Film Festival (WOFFF) is calling for submissions for its 10th edition, taking place from 7 September to 7 October 2024.
Filmmakers, producers, and scriptwriters from around the world are invited to submit their films or short scripts until 25 June 2024.
Celebrating the fun, fearless and real stories of women over 50, WOFFF is accepting submissions across five genres and scriptwriting.
- Animation
- Comedy
- Documentary
- Drama
- Experimental
The titles ultimately selected to be part of the WOFFF24 programme will automatically be considered for the annual WOFFF Awards Ceremony, which recognises the best in Animation, Documentary, Drama (including Comedy), Experimental as well as awarding a prize for Student Filmmakers and for the best short script.
Nuala O’Sullivan, founder of WOFFF said: “We’re very excited to be inviting submissions for this, the tenth edition of our festival celebrating women over 50 in front of and behind the camera. Anyone can submit their work to WOFFF, it just has to feature a woman over 50 as a central character, or have a woman over 50 as a director, writer or producer. This means we get an incredibly diverse and exciting range of films and scripts from people aged 18 – 80, from London to Lima and everywhere in between. Each year, we receive an increasing number of submissions, from fantastic international filmmakers who are breaking the mold and putting women over 50 at the heart of storytelling. We can’t wait to see what our 10th year brings!”
WOFFF24 is a hybrid festival, taking place online from 7 September – 7 October and in-person on Saturday 21 September at Depot, Lewes, East Sussex. Tickets are on sale now.
