Death and dying

St Mary’s Church Walthamstow was home for our third London community screening of HOLDING SPACE by Rehana Rose & DEAD GOOD by Rebecca Kenyon. This evening also featured both filmmakers in conversations with Revd Vanessa Conant and Revd Dr Jeremy Brooks.

Vanessa asked what the filmmakers learned from making their films about death and dying. Rebecca Kenyon says, “I talk to people about death every day now. If people don’t want to talk about it to me, that’s ok, but they know I’ll listen if they want to talk another time.” And Rehana said, “Telling someone what you want at your funeral is important; telling someone what you don’t want is important too.”

Thanks for all who came along. It’s been great to hear the films and discussion resonated with so many. This audience member comment sums up the evening “St Mary’s was the perfect space for the film viewing.”
